South African Paramount Group Offers Bronco II Aircraft for US Special Forces

Decidedly, the program of acquisition of light attack aircraft for the US Air Force does not lack rebound. Thus, while it has canceled its LAAR (Light/Attack Armed Reconnaissance) program, the USAF should even receive a small number of AT-6 Texan II and A-29 Super Tucano for testing in the coming months. At the same time, the project to acquire light attack aircraft was taken over by the US Special Forces Command (USSOCOM) as part of the Armed Overwatch program.

And while AT-6 and A-29 were considered the main candidates for this new program, which will request new flight tests and a new selection, the South African company Paramount now seems to want to impose itself in the USA with its light aircraft Bronco II, marketed in the United States by its American subsidiary Leidos.

The Bronco II has a slightly inverted jib wing, a rear thruster and a twin-beam tailplane. This configuration should offer good maneuverability at low altitudes during firing passes.
