Fincantieri will build the new submarine rescue vessel for the Italian Navy

The Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri will soon launch the construction of the new submersible assistance and rescue buildingof the Italian Navy, which will replace the Antéo, dedicated to this mission since 1980.

The new building will be equipped with a very extensive range of sensors and underwater drones, and will be able to implement DSRV to evacuate submarines in distress. It also has decompression chambers, and can accommodate up to 200 people on board.

The construction of the building is estimated at €420 million.
