The CEMA, General Lecointre, and the CEMM, Admiral Prazuk, spoke on the subject of the shooting incident concerning the MdCN missiles from the frigate Aquitaine against chemical installations in Syria during Operation Hamilton. The two general officers indicated that Russian ships, including a Gregorovich-class frigate, had behaved in unfriendly ways which had prevented the Aquitaine frigate from firing its missiles. It is the redundancy frigate which will have fired, as well as the rafale reserve. The officers insisted that the objectives were achieved, and that this type of situation had been anticipated by the mission planners, which is why there were 3 frigates and 5 Rafales on area.
