The commander of the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt relieved of his command by Washington

U.S. Navy Secretary Thomas Modly said yesterday, April 2, that the commander of the nuclear aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt, had been relieved of his command following the publication in the media of the letter that he had sent to his hierarchical chain, in which he insisted on the disembarkation of his crew in Guam while the Coronavirus Covid19 epidemic was progressing very quickly on board, and had already contaminated more than 200 crew members.

This brutal and awkward decision by the American command is justified by the fact that Commander Brett Crozier, an officer with exemplary service, would not have respected the chain of command by leaking his request to the San Francisco Chronicle, which would have portrayed a degraded and inaccurate picture, in the words of Thomas Modly, of the concerns of the US Navy and the Pentagon for the health of its soldiers, as well as a lack of competence of the American government. For the moment, it is unknown where Captain Crozier will be affected, but there is no doubt that following such a layoff, his career in the US Navy will quickly come to an end.
