The Russian company Micran, which had already made a name for itself by presenting the Glaz (eye) portable recognition system launching a panoramic camera using an alarm gun, presented at the Milex 2019 fair in Minsk, in Belarus, the "Karnivora" drone, intended, among other things, to intercept light drones.

To do this, the Karnivora carries a net-launching device, which it directs at its target, and which immobilizes the drone before bringing it back to earth using a parachute. The system consists of a transport and control vehicle, allowing the drone to be brought to its area of action, launched and controlled, as well as the drone itself, weighing 40kg, reaching 150 km/h and with a battery life of 10 to 15 hours. In addition, it can carry nearly 25 liters of weapons and payloads in the hold, such as grenades, mines, and/or anti-drone nets.

A 3D video presents the system, but for the moment, no “in situ” video is available. That said, there was none for the Glaz either, even though the system has already been acquired by Russian forces.
