Negotiations are progressing between Berlin and Jerusalem on the Arrow 3 anti-ballistic system

In many respects, the negotiations that began after the Russian offensive against Ukraine, between Israelis and Germans to allow Germany to implement the Arrow-3 anti-ballistic system, represent the unifying pillar having brought 14 other European countries (Belgium, Bulgaria, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Romania, United Kingdom, Slovakia and Slovenia) to join the German European Sky Shield initiative to provide Europe with an integrated anti-aircraft and especially anti-missile defense to contain the Russian threat. And if the exports of German IRIS-TL systems targeted by this initiative have not really taken off to date, in particular in the face of very active competition from the American NASAMS and Israeli systems SPYDER and David Sling, the protection promised by Berlin to its neighbors thanks to the Israeli Arrow-3 systems remains a powerful political lever for Germany in order to impose itself as the pivot of European defence, at least for its eastern facade.
