Indonesia will order 36 Rafale and 8 F-15EX this year

We knew it, discussions are progressing quickly and well between Paris and Jakarta regarding the acquisition of a significant number of aircraft Rafale, with the aim of rapidly modernizing and strengthening Indonesian air power in the face of increasing tensions in the Indo-Pacific region. We now know a little more about the priorities of the Indonesian Air Force, but also about the timetable it aims for its application.

Indeed, according to statements made by the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force, Air Marshal Fajar Prasetyo, on the occasion of a meeting which took place at the headquarters of the Air Force on Thursday February 18, it intends to formalize this year the order of 36 Rafale from France, but also 8 F-15EX heavy fighters from the American Boeing, 6 of them to be delivered in 2022. In addition, the Indonesian Air Force will order 2 C- tanker aircraft 130J from Lokcheed-Martin, as well as MALE Medium Altitude Long Endurance drones, a tool that we understand is essential for monitoring the immense Indonesian archipelago.
