Russia orders 6 new corvettes for the Pacific fleet

The Russian Defense Ministry announced, via the TASS agency, a new order for 20380 family corvettes, in order to strengthen and modernize the Pacific fleet between 2024 and 2028. Two of these ships will be Steregushchiy class corvettes from project 20380, while the other 4 will be Gremyashchiy class of project 20385, in both cases ships with significant firepower, and capable of significantly strengthening Russian naval capabilities on its Pacific coast.

The Corvettes of the Steregushchiy class, of which 6 examples are already in service in the Baltic and Pacific fleets, and 4 other examples at different stages of construction, are ships of 2.200 tons and a length of 104,5 meters. They carry complete armament, including a 190mm A-100 naval gun, 8 Kh-35 anti-ship missiles, and 12 Redut vertical silos to receive 9M96E anti-aircraft missiles carrying up to 40 km, and controlled by radar. 3D Furke 2.
