Turkey humiliates NATO and D. Trump by commanding second Russian S-400 regiment

In March of this year, NATO, through its Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, called on Europeans for more "flexibilities" vis-à-vis Turkey, following in this James Jeffrey, High Representative of the United States for Syria, who asked Europeans to come and support Ankara in its operation in northern Syria by deploying Patriot missile batteries to protect Turkish territory. Shortly before, President Trump had shown a strong understanding with his Turkish counterpart, RT Erdogan, on the occasion of the NATO London summit in December 2019. Difficult, in these conditions, to imagine the humiliation inflicted by the Turkish president on the two men, while Ankara has just formalized an order for a second S-400 anti-aircraft systems regiment acquired from Moscow during the Army-2020 exhibition.

Because if the president Trump had excluded Ankara from the F-3 program5 in summer 2019 during first deliveries of S-400 to Turkey, the latter had however made the bet of a rapid return of the country in the row, in particular in offering many ways out for President ErdoganAs the sale of Patriot systems et various options, more or less realistic, concerning the S400 received. In addition, the American president did not initiate any of the measures at his disposal to economically sanction Ankara for this acquisition, making, as such, lose a lot of credit and efficiency to CAATSA legislation, to the chagrin of the US Congress, much more inclined to severe retaliatory measures.
