China to invest $ 500 billion over 10 years to catch up on nuclear weapons

According to the state website globaltimes.cn, citing diplomatic sources, Beijing has notified Washington of its refusal to participate in US-Russian negotiations on nuclear weapons reduction in the park. On the contrary, China will deploy unprecedented and colossal efforts to make up for its delay in terms of strategic weapons vis-à-vis the United States.

It must be said that, on this subject, the Chinese narrative is particularly easy. With less than 500 nuclear warheads in service, Beijing, like Paris, does not play today in the same course as Washington or Moscow, which aligns almost 6000 each. In addition, China does not have the same relays as the United States to potentially deploy ballistic weapons or anti-missile systems near the borders of its potential adversaries. Yet, and much more than the Russian 9M29 Novator system, it was the Chinese positions that, in the shadows, prompted the United States to withdraw from the INF Treaty, which prohibited it, as well as Russia, the possession and deployment of nuclear weapons with a range ranging from 500 to 2500 km.
