According to information from Indian newspaper The Economic Times, the French shipbuilder Naval Group is said to be in talks with the two Indian shipyards selected by New Delhi to build the six new Project 75i submarines. Regarded as one of the two most serious candidates of this competition, Naval Group however seeks to promote exclusive relationships between international manufacturers and Indian shipyards.

For the French group, strong and lasting links between foreign suppliers and local manufacturers would allow the Indian Ministry of Defense to conduct its programs faster, at a better cost, while ensuring the strengthening of the Indian defense industrial base. In the meantime, Naval Group intends to comply with the rules established by the Indian authorities and stands ready for any eventuality.
