130 US Congressmen Call for 24% Increase in F-35 Orders

As every year, the Pentagon publishes its projected budget for the following fiscal year, to be validated by the United States Congress. This topic has already been abundantly addressed in our lines, and showed a clear decline in certain equipment endowments in order to allow funding for other programs. Among other programs impacted by Pentagon decisions: Lockheed Martin's F-35 stealth fighter intended for both the US Air Force, the US Navy and the US Marines Corps.

If the F-35 continues to be widely supported by the American armed forces, the Pentagon has seen fit, faced with delays in the program, to claim only 79 aircraft for the fiscal year 2021. In fact, it is indeed 19 aircraft less than what Congress had approved for the fiscal year 2020. A choice which is explained above all by the new deadline of more than a year imposed by the Pentagon's control authorities before being able to authorize the production at full speed of the F-35. In addition, the reduction in orders for F-35 made it possible to order additional Super Hornets for the US Navy as well as the first batches of the new F-15EX Advanced Eagle for the USAF.
