According to statements by the South Korean Chief of Staff, corroborating official announcements from the North Korean authorities, the ballistic missiles used by North Korea during the tests which took place on July 25, are of a new type. Remember that according to North Korea, these shots are the consequence of the announcement of upcoming joint United States-South Korea exercises to be held in September. Indeed, the missiles would have had a flight trajectory comparable to that of the Russian Iskander missiles, identified by NATO by the code SS-26 Stone, with a long apogee trajectory at an altitude of 50 km, the missiles having traveled, during the test, a distance of 600 km before disappearing into the Sea of Japan.
