According to the drive site, citing a report from the Pentagon's Test and Experiment Directorate's office, the new Stryker Dragoon light armored vehicles were the subject of a computer intrusionpotentially altering its electronic systems, such as communications, navigation, and optronic sighting and fire control systems.

On January 28, 2019, Bloomberg had already revealed that numerous systems used by the American armed forces were identified as vulnerable to cyber attacks.

The origin of the intrusions is not identified by the report, which simply notes that the “adversaries” had demonstrated their ability to degrade the performance of the armored vehicle in a contested electronic environment.
